What do Martha Stewart and Kate Middleton have in common? Aside from the obvious—fame, fortune, a signature coif—the unlikely duo appear to share a favorite eveningwear designer, Jenny Packham.
Stewart celebrated her Sports Illustrated on Thursday, May 18, at the launch event in New York City. The 81-year-old, understanding that she was the star of the evening, wore a long-sleeve beaded Jenny Packham gown in a look-at-me shade: gold.
She kept the rest of her look simple and on brand, sporting her unfussy shoulder-length blonde bob and a glowy, sun-kissed beat.
To keen observer of all things royal fashion like myself, the look was instantly recognizable—back in 2021 the Princess of Wales sported a version of the same dress to the world premiere of the James Bond film No Time to Die.
Middleton’s dress featured a cape rather than long bell sleeves, with sheets of gold beads cascading down the back, but the V neckline and gathered waist are unmistakably the same Jenny Packham design.
Inside the Sports Illustrated celebration, Stewart was giving queen vibes, posing with fans (well, Kim Petras and Megan Fox were also cover stars, but it’s probably not a stretch to call them fans) and copies of her history-making cover.
And then there’s this photo of the homemaking maven/ex-con and Machine Gun Kelly, which is essentially the same photo I have of myself and my grandma at my college graduation. (In case you were wondering, yes, MGK and Fox both attended the event, but no, they did not pose together on the red carpet. More on that here.)
It’s Martha’s World and we’re just living in it.
