Five days after SweatsGate, it looks like Justin and Hailey Bieber are finally on the same sartorial page.
The A-list couple seem to be in damage control mode after the 29-year-old “Sorry” singer was lambasted online for wearing gray sweats to his wife’s Rhode x Krispie Kreme event for the launch of her skin care line’s Strawberry Glazed lip treatment. While the 26-year-old model showed up looking like a snack in a red tube minidress and matching high-heel mules, Justin looked like he was coming from the gym in gray sweat shorts and a zip-up hoodie, which he topped off with yellow Crocs and a pink trucker hat.
Actually, it’s not quite clear where Justin’s look belongs, but fans quickly deemed it unacceptable for his wife’s important career moment. “I would’ve left him in the car,” one fan tweeted when the images first circulated on August 28.
It seemed Justin attempted to course-correct by dumping a ton of loving photos of Hailey on his Instagram feed in the following days, but his fans are still heated. “He’s constantly posting these supercute lovey-dovey photos of her all the time,” TikTok user Grace Brassel said in a video about the controversy. “But it’s like, Why couldn’t you use your 4 million likes to vocalize and stand up for her when the whole internet was clowning on her?”

For whatever it’s worth, the couple (or their stylist) seem to have received the message. On September 1, the Biebers attended the 2023 US Open Tennis Championships in New York City wearing matching black leather jackets. Hailey continued to push her Strawberry Girl agenda with her blushy makeup look and red manicure, which paired perfectly with her white minidress and oversized outerwear.
Meanwhile, her husband complemented her look in a white tank top and oversized leather coat of his own, which he wore with jeans. Of course, Justin is all about accessories and topped off his look with a pair of vibrant sneakers, a polka-dot baseball hat, and pink bubble sunglasses.
You know what they say: A couple that dresses together stays together. However, that hasn’t worked out quite so well for Brad Pitt, so who knows?
