If Gisele Bündchen were to write a book called Leaving Your Very Famous, Very Popular Husband and Absolutely Thriving, I’m sure it’d be a bestseller. I’m sure it would top Oprah’s and Reese’s book clubs. I’m about 99% positive the supermodel would win a Nobel Prize for literature. It would be that compelling. I mean, what does this look like to you if not “absolutely thriving”?
The 42-year-old arrived for her first Met Gala post-divorce from Tom Brady in a Chanel couture bridal look from Karl Lagerfeld’s 2007 collection. The sleeveless column gown features vertical paneling over the sheer silhouette, giving the illusion of a dress made of party streamers. The star of the show (not including Bündchen’s megawatt smile), however, is the feathered cape.
The bridal look is fitting for the theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” Not only was it made by Lagerfeld himself during his tenure at Chanel from 1983 to 2019, it’s an homage to the Chanel bride.
The French fashion house closes each of its couture shows with a wedding look, and Gisele’s bridal number is a nod to that time-honored tradition that fans of Lagerfeld’s work will never forget.
Speaking of, I’m personally tickled by the thought of a second wedding for our girl Gisele Bündchen. Though she hasn’t publicly dated since her split from Brady, I think I speak for all of us when I say that no one can rock a wedding dress like she can. Abso-lute-ly THRIVING.
