As music industry greats gathered for the 2023 Grammys in Los Angeles last night on February 5—flexing their fashion muscles in the process—Michelle Yeoh joined her acting peers in London for the Critics’ Circle Awards. And she dressed for the occasion in a look that had quiet edge.
While Florence Pugh arrived in a bold peplum dress (and matching hat!) from Robert Wun’s inaugural couture collection, Yeoh chose to take a more understated approach that was no less impactful for it.
The actor’s stylist Jordan Johnson Chung pulled a voluminous tulle trench coat from Alexander McQueen’s spring-summer 2023 collection for her client to wear on the night, one that featured dramatic “exploding” sleeves. Yeoh toughened up her romantic tulle creation with platform boots and added a bright green manicure, which matched the shade of her sculptural earrings.
Michelle Yeoh has been a refreshing presence on the red carpet this awards season, and we’re looking forward to seeing what she chooses for the biggest ceremony of the lot, the Oscars. Here’s hoping it’s a winning night on both the fashion and the trophy front for the Everything Everywhere All At Once.
