Natasha Lyonne is back in the spotlight.
This week has been a fashion whirlwind for the actor, who is currently on a press tour for the second season of Russian Doll On Wednesday, April 20, Lyonne stepped out in New York City wearing a full Gucci look styled by Cristina Ehrlich: She wore a white jumpsuit with a belt featuring a gilded G buckle. Lyonne literally elevated the look with a pair of vertiginous black platform sandals. On her arm, for a pop of contrast, was a mahogany Gucci Jackie bag.
“Anything that feels like a cross between what Marc Bolan of T.Rex and Gena Rowlands in Gloria might wear is always and automatically right up my alley,” Lyonne tells Vogue of the jumpsuit. “The color palette felt soft enough to celebrate the transition back to blonde, especially now that I’ve traded Nadia’s shag for a mullet in the project I’m currently shooting called Poker Face. Gucci gives me the necessary confidence to get through a 5 a.m. wake-up!”
Of course Lyonne would mention the pistol-toting Bronx granny in ’80s Gloria as a style reference—she is a New York girl at heart! But there were some other stellar looks from Lyonne this past month. Also on Wednesday she wore a black Philosophy jumpsuit with an exaggerated white collar on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
At last week’s Netflix premiere, she wore a saucy black number that boasted a tinge of dominatrix: a black dress with a leather collar and a hulking belt around her waist by Roberto Cavalli’s Fausto Puglisi. Other glossy getups included a strapless leather red dress by Moschino, complete with cheeky lion door knockers on the chest. On the more polished end, she opted for an oversized gray suit by Amiri that exuded a sassy Katharine Hepburn vibe. Expect to see more of Lyonne lately. After all, she’s back on the red carpet and is wearing the head-turning ensembles to fit her megawatt role.
