The news, relayed by the local press, was revealed by the deputy mayor responsible for town planning in Serravalle Pistoiese, the municipality in which the brand’s new facility is to be located, not far from Pistoia and Florence.

At the last town council meeting, the local councillor pointed out that “on June 20, Fendi sent an official letter expressing its interest in setting up a logistics and industrial centre in the areas defined by the municipality of Serravalle (…)”. The letter has led to discussions between the municipality and LVMH that began several months ago, he added.

The luxury house does not wish to comment on the project at this time. According to reports in the local press, the site is expected to cover almost 28,000 square metres and employ over 200 people. It is expected to be completed by 2025.

Last October, Fendi inaugurated two cutting-edge factories in quick succession: the Tuscan leather goods factory in Bagno a Ripoli, which hosted the Spring/Summer 2024 men’s show in June and required an investment of 50 million euros, and New Factory Shoes, a site dedicated to the manufacture of shoes in Fermo, in the Marche region. LVMH invested 12 million euros in this factory.
