For a September 27 appearance to promote her Shaping Us campaign, Kate Middleton went with a classic—a frequently worn textured red blazer from Zara. But that’s not to say her look didn’t mix it up. Saving us all from a disorienting sense of déjà vu, she swapped her usual loose waves for an elaborate chignon at the nape of her neck. For Princess Kate, this choice was positively bold.
The princess’s crimson double-breasted jacket has made several appearances over the years. It was first seen in June of 2020 at a soccer match, per Hello!. Then, in February of 2022, she wore it on a trip to Denmark. In October of that same year, she pulled it out again to film a good-luck message for the England women’s rugby club ahead of the Rugby World Cup.
For this particular appearance, Kate layered the bright blazer over a cream-color knit T-shirt with tapered black trousers and pointed-toe flats. While she usually wears her hair down for nonformal occasions, this time she styled a braided updo, leaving her center-parted curtain bangs out to frame her face. The princess is open to trying new things with her fashion lately. She’s just recently gotten the bangs, for one thing, and she’s been wearing pants far more often than she used to.
But if the return of this Zara jacket proves anything, it’s that Kate Middleton always returns to the classics.
