RTA redesigns Los Angeles store, announces partnership with Frieze Art Fair

A white veil enveloped the entrance to the RTA store at 8609 Melrose Avenue on Wednesday evening, celebrating the new version of its store, with an all-white facade and a more airy interior design.

RTA new redesigned flagship store

Dan Brunn, the architect of the brand’s other stores, was asked to transform the LA flagship and introduce a new shopping experience.

“The building has now matured into a sophisticated modern classic. We’re weaving the timeless geometries of the original design to artistic director, Robert Liptak’s refined language. Turned white, it’s as if the building is now wearing a tuxedo,” said Brunn.

A new setting and a new energy; perfect to present the very first collection imagined by Robert Liptak.
“We are relaunching our flagship store on Melrose Avenue,” said Liptak. “We completely redesigned it, changed the color to white, showed the new logo and dropped my first collection. I really want RTA have a welcoming spirit, the energy is totally different, white is bringing a new fresh air and you really want go inside and check the collection. We also redesigned our New York store, with more space and more air, and has a little bit more elevated feeling.”

Inside the boutique, the first RTA collection by Liptak distills around a central olive tree; the collections for both women and men. Some strong pieces for men such as the oversized dusty orange jacket and a sculptural oversized jacket mirror, wide-leg leather cargo pant and a very comfortable hooded leather bomber jacket. For women, draped jersey skirts, bronze mini dresses, leather triangle bralettes and asymmetrical leather dresses capture the attention of the guests who came in great numbers. Among them, Lisa Rinna, Tati Gabrielle, Khalil Ghani, Niia Rocco and Ella Snyder.
Liptak and RTA’s founder, David Rimokh, also took the opportunity to announce their partnership with the Frieze Art fair.

“We are an emerging brand and committed to elevating creative dialogue and artistic expression, reason we are proud to become the official partner with Frieze,” said Liptak.
On the occasion of Frieze NY 2023, RTA will launch next week, in New York, their new artist initiative, ‘RTA Collective’.

“It’s important for us to embrace collaboration and establish a support network for all involved,” added Liptak. “To encourage this, the invited artist will be part of the process to select the following year’s artist and share their support with fellow artists. It’s often hard to get into this world, and we want to bring a community of creative people who have the same vision and mindset.”
